UNICEF Opportunities programme, aimed at addressing youth unemployment and the lack of career guidance, is entering a new phase of implementation that will run from January 19 to September 8, 2026. The implementation of this year cycle is led by the NGO Center for Youth Education, with the goal of directly connecting adolescents, namely students in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of secondary schools, with employers and enabling them to acquire practical skills.

The mission of the programme is to facilitate adolescent entry into the labour market and encourage them to independently build their professional future through making informed decisions about continuing their education. The vision encompasses the creation of an inclusive community in which every young person, regardless of gender or socio-economic status, has an equal chance to develop their full potential.

The programme covers seven municipalities - Podgorica, Cetinje, Herceg Novi, Pljevlja, Kolasin, Kotor and Bar. Through cooperation with 12 secondary schools, more than 500 adolescents will have the opportunity to participate. Through this programme, adolescents will have the opportunity to easily connect with potential employers by completing a one-day training in a network of at least 50 private companies and civil society organisations, including companies from the TUI Group.

In addition to practical work, through a series of info sessions and career guidance workshops, secondary school students will receive guidance for making informed decisions about continuing their education or career, that is, the occupation they aspire to achieve. Activities also include organised company visits for students, through which adolescents will have the opportunity to hear inspiring stories from professionals in various fields at their schools. The aim of the programme is to facilitate young people entry into the labour market and encourage them to independently build their professional future.

UNICEF Opportunities programme in Montenegro is carried out with the financial support of the TUI Care Foundation, and the activities are implemented by the NGO Center for Youth Education.
